But the build always went to someone else, and by the time it got there half the reasoning had fallen out. So we learned to build. Now the thinking and the building sit in the same room.

How we got here
We come out of Big Four consulting: PwC, EY. Years spent working out how businesses actually make money. Pricing, operations, operating models. The analysis was usually right. The build went to someone else, and half the reasoning fell out on the way.
So we learned to build. Now we do both halves: work out the operation and its costs the way a consultant does, then write the system.
We work with established businesses that hold stock and employ people. Usually the whole operation holds together because the owner keeps it in their head. We turn that into a system, so growth stops depending on memory.
The name
Akal is a Punjabi and Sanskrit word, usually glossed as timeless. We chose it for the work we set out to do: systems that still hold years after launch, not prototypes that impress once and fall over in the field.
